- The Māori used Hunters, gatherers and crop farmers to harvest food from forests, streams, the sea and gardens.
- The Māori usually cooked there food in a earth oven called a hangi and where normally made in rotorua due to the thermal heat.
- A hangi that was made now days would include meat and vegetables and where cooked in a hole dug in the ground. Placed on hot stones at the bottom of the hole, the food is covered with cloth and a mound of earth trapping the heat around the food and cooking time would be around 25 to 30 minuets.
- The Māori used different traps to catch different food
I am a student. This is a place where I will share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.
